"I’m a lessee of
a property and started to consider sub letting the property
I’m in. I followed traditional routes to sort out the
ethical and legal ways of acquiring sub tenants and keeping
my landlord involved. I approached the law firm who supported
me getting the original lease documents sorted and was met
with apathy then an email arrived telling me “It’ll
cost £1500 - £1750…..”. I nearly had
a hard drive failure! So I used my network of legal contacts
and found someone who would ‘not rip you off’
who at first was genuinely interested in my wellbeing until
it came to the crunch and he wanted £500 per sub lessee
which meant £1000 to £1500. I felt I’d gone
from wolf in wolf’s clothing to the wolf in sheep’s
clothing!
Exasperated I thought there must be an alternative, so
I spent the best part of a week trying to find a reputable
online ‘legal’ company who can back up their
claims of delivering legal documents with support at a reasonable
cost. Whilst some had boilerplate products none responded
in quite the same way as Netlawman (www.netlawman.co.uk).
I sent in an enquiry and within 12 hours I had a reply (late
at night). It was clear I had reached someone who was interested
in what I was doing and wasn’t switching on a clock.
Over the next 48 hours, we had emailed documents, received
a very fair price for the work and I had paid the quoted
price. All this was completed over a weekend! I had a technical
issue with the website (probably down to me) and got a response
on a Sunday – unheard of! I asked for a fast response
and hoped for the best. By Wednesday I had fully delivered
documents in my inbox ready to take to my Landlord. The
help from Pradeep who carried out the work and Miriam who
made sure things were going to happen has been absolutely
and refreshingly fantastic!
I gained a lot of faith in this experience and have already
recommended my Landlord should cut out the expensive solicitor
who prefers long letters and weeks to communicate when there’s
a quicker, better and cheaper alternative at the touch of
a few buttons. I saved at least £900 in the process
of getting this done and I’m sure at least a month
in time, all of which means I’ll have sorted things
out, without being pillaged in the process If you have any
